Lately, I've been drawn to foreign and indie films. The reason? They are more "real". What do I mean by real? I mean that Hollywood, as of late, doesn't make movies for the art. Its run by giant corporations that try to maximize profits. Yeah sure, a lot of the stuff being pumped out is enjoyable, but it isn't really that memorable. Sometimes big actors or directors make a good performance, but even then it seems like they are being used for profit. I dunno. Maybe that is why I enjoy animation so much.
Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Yay we won! In fact, if U and I were not in business, it would not be business. Furthermore, we discover that U comes before I in business and the I is silent--it is to be seen, not heard. Also, the U in business has the sound of I, which indicates it is an amalgamation of the interests of U and I. When they are properly amalgamated, business becomes harmonious, profitable, and pleasant." --- Zig Ziglar
Help my boi out.

And vote for this clip right here. Out of those searches, 30% or so potential employees are thrown out or dropped from eligibility because of "nonflattering" or "scandalous" content found on those sites. Is it really fair for them to do so? If someone likes to party, does that mean that they are automatically a bad person? Does that mean that they are unqualified? Do people not change? Can things be taken out of context? I guess people do have some control over what they show, by making things private or shifting images around. But I don't think I can do that. I think the quality of a person can be shown through their actions during the high times and the low times. If you only are shown one side of the coin, how do you know you are not getting duped? Anyways, for you Mr/Madam hiring staff, I have nothing to hide. Your welcome to go through all that I have. You might be delighted, you might be disgusted, but I assure you, you will see me, not as I have tailored myself to be, but the full candid version. Actually I should try to find your job. You get paid to search myspace/facebook/xanga all day? Sweet! I do that anyway!
Friday, October 10, 2008

Alrighty, I've been almost exclusively on facebook for like a year and a half or something like that, but that medium just doesn't work for what I want to say now. I got frigging owned in the face. I've had it happen before, and in the same way, its happened again. Someone has hit my car, and I get nothing for it. The first time was in ATL. I was eating at 88 Tofu House and some people wanted to goto a karaoke bar, so I left and was just sitting there in the parking lot when this lady just rams be from behind. I think she was looking at the radio or something. Anyway, she broke my bumper, wasn't too big a deal. She asked that the cops not get involved, so I try to help her out and negotiate a settlement there. Doesn't work out, so we eventually call the cops and when they arrive they inform us that because the accident was on private property, they couldn't do anything for us. Just had us exchange infromation and then left. I of course return home to Memphis and try to contact her. She asks that I go get an estimate and call her back. I do so, but eventually I give up because she just doesn't pick up any calls from TN (I tried calling with a variety of different phones). The damage was small, and it would have been a bigger hassle to actually get her into court. So I pay for it out of pocket, whatever. Fast forward a few years and I'm stuck in the same frigging delima. A dude backs into my car and puts a crack on my bumper. He has no damage to his car. Alright, whatever. I ask for his insurance. He looks at me all weird, "sorry, no english". Great, dude is straight outta Mexico. I didn't want to call the police, because I knew what they would say. I was on private property and they couldn't do anything for me. So I ask dude if he has any ID or a drivers license or anything. He says he doesn't have anything. So, I had no choice but to call the police. They got there and asked dude if he was illegal. What a question to ask. He doesn't answer their question, just says "no english". They tell me that they can't do anything on private property and that I should take it up in small claims court but probably won't have too much luck there. "I feel for you man, but your SOL" the cop says to me. So I ask dude for his address and number and what not, but he says he doesn't have anything. Not only that, he says the car is his friends. So I got hit by a dude with no insurance, no drivers license, no phone, no address, and no english. The damage to my car was minute, thats not what bothers me. Its the fact that the police came and did nothing. This was a guy who shouldn't of even been driving who hits my car and just gets off. So here goes the lesson. If you hit someone on private property. Tell them nothing! You can and will get away with it.
Monday, June 16, 2008

I assume that xanga is dead.
Monday, October 22, 2007

Shanghai Kiss, check it out, the movie isn't half bad.
Thursday, August 09, 2007

The 801 Trio embarked one a journey today. Maybe it could even qualify as a mission. We went to class, ate, came home, and proceeded to clean our yard. While it might not sound like all that much to some of you, we intellectual types at 801 are definitely not use to hard manual labor. It also probably does not help that we let it grow all summer and try to do it all in one big sweep. Needless to say. it was pretty intense and I'm pooped. I don't even have the energy anymore to play video games. I'm just going to lay on my bed with the fan running in the background and try to re-obtain my lost energies. Kinda sad when I think about it.
